This year, as part of social studies, we will be answering some essential questions. These questions are intended to make you think. I am not looking for a right or wrong answer. Instead, I am hoping you will take some time to consider the question. Maybe talk it over with your family. Determine your own beliefs. Then, add your thoughts to the blog. Your answer should be about 2-3 sentences long. State your belief as well as 1-2 ideas as to why you believe that. Then, respond to another student's blog that has a different answer than yours. Do you agree with what they said? Do you have opposing beliefs? State whether you agree or not and why. This response should also be approximately 2-3 sentences long. Remember to proofread your writing. Check for spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

Should we study history? Yes. Why do we study history? Well in my opinion, even though history is not my favorite thing in the world, if we do not learn from history, it will just be repeated. Think about it; if no one ever studied history than we would probably be on like, world war 17. There would be another guy like Hitler killing all the Orthodox people this time, and people would crash planes into tall buildings like crazy, all bececause nobody ever studied history, therfore no one would know how it ended for the bad guy(Bin Laden Hitlor etc.). Plus studying the subject would make you alot smarter. My point is, next time you have a history test, before you blow it all off, think to yourself. Is a little bit of studying worth the possible destruction of the world?

Yeah, I totaly agree!! I really would not want there to be world war 17 going on. It would also be horrible for like the 3rd generation Hitler to be taking over the world! I can not imagine planes crashing into the Sears tower (aka the Willis tower). Studying history definetly pays off. Z.H.
DeleteI totally agree with you that we can all learn from the things from the past, but have ever thought that if it weren't for who ever invented the internet or first thought of blogging or whatever, I wouldn't be replying to your bog. I think that we can really appreciate and make role models of the people that came before us. But cool thinking! AD

I think we study history because we can learn from the mistakes of the past. We can also find role models in the past that will inspire us to do great things in the future. It also gives us an appreciation for the inventions and the inventors that made this blog possible. AD

DeleteWe study history because we don't want to make the same mistakes as others did. If we do not read about mistakes we would do it over and over. By learning about historical events that were great we learn to do the right things. Not everything in histiry was bad many events were extrodonary. AG

It is also very useful: like with inventions - if we don't learn what they had then, we would not be able to take notes and improve. last, I think we should study history because it is fun to me. That tells you why I think we should study history.

Also when you learn history it makes you make the right decision from yes and no. I was asking my family and one of them said history is not important it is just a wast of time. I don't agree because it is important to learn from other peoples mistakes. And it makes you a lot smarter and have more knowledge
